There’s been a murder—and every instrument in the orchestra is a suspect! Join Inspector Lisa Bergman (KING FM) for Nathaniel Stookey’s delightfully witty Lemony Snicket’s The Composer is Dead, a hilarious musical mystery that introduces young audiences to the orchestra through laughter, suspense, and plenty of surprising musical clues and cues.
PROGRAM:
Edvard Grieg – “In the Hall of the Mountain King” from Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46
Nathaniel Stookey – The Composer is Dead
Philharmonia Northwest is proud to offer two performances of “Sneaky with Snicket”:
12pm Sensory-Friendly Performance: Includes added supports for audience members who are neurodivergent or have sensory processing challenges, including dimmed lights, lower volumes, and reduced audience size. Fidget toys will also be provided.
2pm General Audience Performance: The same concert as the 12pm performance, but with a bigger (and louder) audience and louder music
Both performances feature a welcoming environment for young children, relaxed audience etiquette expectations, and a run time under 1 hr.
Instrument Petting Zoo at 12:45pm: Join us in the lobby an Instrument Petting Zoo, presented by Music Center of the Northwest! This is a opportunity for audience members of all ages to try playing some of the instruments in the orchestra. Our friends at Music Center of the Northwest will be on hand to offer helpful guidance on how to play them.
