Join Philharmonia Northwest at Town Hall for our annual Children’s Concert, featuring an hour of fun music for the entire family! Relive memories from the Harry Potter films with John Williams’ magical scores. Then, learn about the different instruments of the orchestra with The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, narrated by KING FM’s Dave Beck.
We’re proud to offer two performances of our Children’s Concert this season. Both performances feature a welcoming environment for young children, relaxed audience etiquette expectations, and a run time under 1 hr:
(NEW) 12pm Sensory-Friendly Performance: Includes added supports for audience members who are neurodivergent or have sensory processing challenges, including dimmed lights, lower volumes, and reduced audience size. Fidget toys will also be provided.
2pm General Audience Performance: The same concert as the 12pm performance, but with a bigger (and louder) audience and louder music
Instrument Petting Zoo at 12:45pm: Join us in the lobby for an Instrument Petting Zoo, presented by Music Center of the Northwest! This is an opportunity for audience members of all ages to try playing some of the instruments in the orchestra. Our friends at Music Center of the Northwest will be on hand to offer helpful guidance on how to play them.
Note: Subscription packages including the 12pm Sensory-Friendly Children’s Concert performance are not available online, but may be ordered via phone; contact our box office at (206) 675-9727 to purchase.
